Top travel tips for Albania to save you money, time and stress. Read this before you go travelling in Albania.

Albania is very safe, affordable, friendly, tolerant and above all else, incredibly beautiful.

Tirana, the capital of Albania, is very vibrant, filled with beautiful scenery and landscapes and people are very friendly, despite the language barrier making communication a bit tricky.  Local cuisine is delicious and very affordable, bearing in mind most places still use cash over card, and there is a wide range of sights and attractions like bunkers that are placed all over the city, also there are some museums and churches and cathedrals which you can also visit.

There are beaches close to Tirana which takes around 40 minutes on a taxi and costs about 40 to 50 euros one way.

If you’re looking for good nightlife, you will certainly find it there as there are a selection of night clubs which plays different types of music from different countries, but beware of too many smokers in and outside of clubs. There is one popular night club which is called club magic everyone talks about that one, but are a lot of good ones too. The city centre is also very close to Tirana Airport, ranging from around 30-40 minutes by bus (which comes hourly) and cost about 400 Lek/4 euros.

Berat – albania

Here are the best things to do in Berat. Through the Osum River valley, the historic center of Berat is decorated with a sweeping brushstroke of rooftops colored in chestnut. Oppositely, twin summits ascend. The powerful Berat Castle, dating back to the 13th century, perches atop Gorica Hill, the taller of the two.
The largest fortress in Albania is the Berat Castle. Mostly intact, Berat Castle is not like other castles in the area that have crumbled over time. The extensive citadel complex that consists of stone streets, residences, and Byzantine churches within its walls is interspersed with ruins from different historical periods.
After seeing numerous strongholds in Albania and throughout the Balkans, Berat Castle seems utterly distinct.

 Explore the historic Mangalem Quarter

Berat is divided into two precincts: Mangalem (Mangalemi) and Gorica by the river valley that flows through the city. Though there aren't any significant differences between the two now, Mangalem used to be the Muslim or Ottoman Quarter, and Christians used to live in Gorica across the river. Berat Old Town is comprised of these. We toured this city with a tour guide which was very good as they can take you to the best places around Albania.

This is Berat is the ninth most populous city of Albania and the seat of Berat County and Berat Municipality.
